350 swap

So, I have an '84 K10 with a 305. The engine has a couple of cylinders that have almost zero compression. I am thinkinking of swapping to a 350 crate engine rather than rebuilding but I have a couple of questions (I'm not a Chevy guy). Does the 305 just drop in, mate with the trans and use the mounts of the 305 or is there a bunch of stuff that has to change to make this successful? I'd just like to get this thing running reasonably well and drive it enough to see if I want to keep it and fix it up or sell it. Thanks in advance for any advice!

A 350 bolts in,in place of a 305, bolt for bolt. Everything swaps unless you change the year of the motor and even that is NBD a little grinding on the intake manifold,and buy valve covers that fit your heads and a flexplate for an 86 up sbc anything 1985 and prior should be the same

305 and 350 have the same cast on the outside.
Just get the same year/type crate as the engine that's in your truck and everything will fit.
