That's why I grabbed it (besides being so cheap), my buddy and his dad are/were pipefitters and have one, I've borrowed it doing some exhaust work and it is very handy.

When I borrowed it doing the sidepipes on the 76:

Same, I lucked out and mine was free. I tried to find a picture of the Toledo No 7.

All I could find was a leg in the background performing a similar task…

Bought a very small set of side cutters to open up heat shrink wire harnesses. Using a knife and not cutting 20G wire is hard to do. The heavy duty wire crimpers are also a newer addition.

I've had those crimpers for 15 years, used it a lot, paid for itself over 10 years ago and is still flawless! Have eyed the mini cutters as well. Also looked at the mini flush cutter for zipties mainly and whatnot.

The bluepoint auto wire strippers were also a game changer, pretty sure I got that from snapon. They sell bluepoint too.

Got this Rigid Tri stand for $5
my local plumber has a old one just like that in his work van. portable, with a small work surface and a chain to lock things onto it. so handy for welding/ cutting/ prying/ twisting things apart while standing in the middle of a driveway,.

..and his van has barn doors, so no step / tailgate to clamp things too. (and a plain E250 ford its full of other things, without any floor space inside.)

There are much more wallet friendly options in this style though.

Ty-Wrap tool, sold through Thomas Betts. Pulls them tight, cuts them flush.
Thanks for that, I've had one of these floating around in my pliers drawer for at least twenty years and never knew what it was for or where it came from. If I had looked at it closer before today, I would have seen it has "T & B Ty-Rap stamped right on it, but it has always just been one of those tools I merely move aside while looking for something else.

I'm guessing that a common term for "side cuts" or "nippers" or etc is on the naughty list. @Old77 please fix it, lol.

I’ve not tried it myself, but use fingernail clippers on a zip tie as it puts a radius edge on the tail. Seems like it would work.

Y'all fancy, I just use my hands and a pair of flush cuts. Then chew on the tail a while lol

I don't think I've ever been called fancy, thanks.

Glad I could help.

Youre fancier then i sir... i dont even cut the tails.
Blasphemi! Tails must be cut (with flush cuts, ***** make for bleeding later on) and they all must face the same direction when using multiple in the same area. Them's the rules
