Ive heard a ton of mixed answers throughout friends. Does anyone know if your mechanical carb fuel pump can pull fuel from the tanks equipped with TBI in tank pumps? I hear it wont pull thru and that you have to change the sending units. someone else say just pull the relay and it will be fine.

Thanks!

I cannot tell for sure if you can draw through the pumps or not. You're getting mixed answers because you can draw through some electric pumps but not all electric pumps. You do not have to change the sender though pull the pump replace it with a piece of fuel resistant hose..

Put an old style .030 over 327 in my G-son's 91 S10. Was a 4 cyl 5 speed with all the 91 electrics. It had an electric pump in it and we just left it there. It draws thru fine .......YMMV

Thought you were trying to save a buck. Figured that was the reason for the question.

ricko not trying to save a penny. Trying to save a headache. Was hoping to just run new fuel line from my selector valve to the motor on my carb swap and delete my high pressure rail pump.

Aren't you the guy with 2 tbi pumps and 1 pressure pump? I'd still run my tbi pumps,no high pressure pump and run a bypass regulator. On a factory gm gen 3 zz3 instal gm supplies a tbi pump and a regulator and advises to use the tbi pump to provide fuel to the factory quadrajet carburetor, even though the vehicles had SBC mechanical pumps to begin with. The first results I found looking for factory GM zz3 fuel pump install were chat bot crap and incorrect. Zz3 was a factory street legal GM engineered swap package for a 3rd gen Camaro. The GM engineers thought the TBI pump and regulator were necessary. And with the quality of mechanical SBC fuel pumps these days I agree.Plus your pumps are already there and wired, all you need is the regulator. ZZ3 installation

Ricko yes I am. Do you also know if the tank switch button actuates only when the trucks running? I believe with key on power only the tank selector valve doesn't work. Ill look into the regulator option.

I'm going from memory, but I believe selector switches with key on. That's 99.9% confident. Easy enough to check if the dash switch has 12V with the key on then the selector should work with key on. Look at the regulator in the link I posted Holley 12-803BP ( not 12-803 ,12-803BP is bypass ) it's dirt simple pressure line in,1 line out to carburetor,1line to factory return line dial your pressure to desired PSI.
