Brakes Sticking,Locking up

Hey All
I have a 89 Burb and right front brake dragging, left front brake locks up when braking hard and not dragging spins free
New pads and new rotors 2022, Another set of Pads 2023 they were sticking incorrect pads, Replaces brake hoses, 2024
Yesterday greased slide pins,Bleed front Brake lines had no bubbles,Released pressure on the right caliper by opening bleed valve seemed to turn freely but still a slight drag,
Sprayed cleaner on front calipers and hosed them off very dirty
Tested drove left front wheel did not lock up so far
Tested brake booster and holds Vacuum
No leaks in the system, Brake fluid Clean DOT3

Any Suggestions

I'd change the hoses again of you are holding pressure on the caliper with out the brake pedal depressed. There's some more checks you can do that would be more definitive. Have a helper step on the brake and release. Then you crack the bleeder,fir right side. Did fluid squirt out,if so you're trapping fluid. Do it again left side. If fluid did squirt from both sides,do the same thing again but instead of cracking bleeders crack the brake lines loose from the hoses at the engine side of the hose. If fluid still squirts there the restriction is further back. If you get that far and still getting squirts post back. If you aren't getting squirts then a restriction probably isn't the issue.

Could be just a bad hose, unfortunately it does happen to all manufacturers.

Like Rick said, going to be a restriction in the system and gonna need a helper. Have the helper press the brake pedal and release a few times. Check the wheel to see if it turns or not, repeat as needed to recreate the original issue. You can crack the line at the frame rail and if it releases the pressure from the caliper, then your restriction is probably going to be between the hard line at the frame going back to the master. If it still holds, crack the bleeder at the caliper and if it fully releases then the brake hose has more than likely failed. It's possible the piston is sticking in the bore, but not as common as the hose failing internally and pinching off the inner hose and preventing the fluid to return to the master.

If the piston is sticking in the bore,you won't get those fluid squirts I wrote about. If it squirts there's a restriction. No squirts we have a different problem. The only reason I suggested it is because you said when you cracked the bleeder the wheel turned free. That is classic brake line restriction,and the hose is the most common failure.

When I cracked a bleeder valve, there was no squirted it slowly came out. I cracked a bleeder valve just enough so fluid would come out It freed the wheel up some but it’s still dragging. Thank you.

If the brake stays applied until you let fluid out,there is a restriction. So make the brake stick,crack the bleeder. Does it unstick,work your way backwards crack the fitting at each junction,to release trapped fluid.When you get to the junction that no longer frees the wheel,then the restriction is in between the last two junctions that cracked.

OK back to the Beginning, Lifted the Burb Pulled the tire off Rotor very hard to turn, Bleed the connection by the frame rail no change? Pumped the brakes engine off, Took the bleed screw off still hard to turn Looks like I have a bad caliper that is not very old ???? Drivers side works fine

Any chance when you crack the fitting at the back of the caliper that fluid comes out of it, the line not the caliper? Can also have a helper press the brake pedal while it's off to make sure that you're getting fluid to the caliper. Just make sure to tighten it back up before the release the pedal. Been there before lol
