Z bar is giving me hell. It actually didn’t go in as easy as I thought it did. Had to bend the lower tab and grind some off the top one. Had to cut some threads off the rod that connect to the clutch fork and z bar because it was backing into the header tube. Think I cut too much because my clutch pedal isn’t all the way up in place. Going to cut it and lengthen it an inch or so.

I know you like headers, but center dump manifolds work extremely well and were made for these trucks, and no modifications required for anything.

I don’t care about headers really, but now im invested.

Neither the bottom or the top pieces I got from LMC work for the radiator. So I drilled the top one out and sliced the clamp parts, and tack weld them back with rubber underneath.

I only have one bottom cradle I guess they were sold not as a pair and I didn’t catch it. I need to get another one and they need to be sliced and lengthened

Also a left over 250w high bay led light works great when you need to see too good

I'm guessing it fit in the frame cradles? That radiator looks to be 4-row tank size.

I have three 65 frames, two came with the lesser radiator and the original one from Mean Green has the 4-row cradles. I have a rebuilt copper/brass 4-row sitting in wait for to be put into service.

If I had extra 4-row insulators I would share them, but I only have the one set from 1965, and I have no extra 4-row brackets or cradles.

It did not fit in the cradles from LMC that were designated V8 style or whatever. They’ll have to be widened

By cradles, are you meaning the two things on top of the core support?

Took all the crap I bought, sliced it up and made cradles for the bottom and made the upper bracket clamp thing fit. Got it bolted in. Thing should cool well with the 4 row. Got the hoses on, top a little long but I guess I can trim it. I bought a generic overflow tank kit from LMC but idk if I’m gonna put it in or not. Should I?

Went to change out the clutch fan just cause I bought a new one months ago but the current one is way beefier and says made in USA so I just painted it along with the fan and kept it.

I wonder if a 2 piece squarebody shroud will work for this truck? I can think of a reason why not

Wow, crazy how badly the aftermarket parts don't simply install without issues.

What measurement is the fan blades? I swapped in a fan clutch setup on Crusty Biscuit but the blades/fan I bought at the specific size to fit the shroud. Got it from ebay

I’ll have to measure the fan

Easier to just post a video

So someone on YouTube said this isn’t a 283 it’s a 305 they cited the fact that the 283 doesn’t have an oil filter on the block?

Now I’ve got to run the numbers I’m surprised I didn’t when I had it out
