There it goes. Maybe you just needed a certain post count
I actually had to reinstall the apple mail app and send email them to myself, save then reupload. Kind of a hassle but worth it to share with you guys.

Hey everyone,

Recently picked up a 1980 K10 Scottsdale with the 5.7L small block v8 and TH350 transmission.

Frame is in good condition. Drivetrain seems decent. I am still working through the engine bay. Of course, it need some of the standard body panel replacement (cab corners, cab footwells, cab supports, fender arches, and bed cross supports).

First goal is work through the engine bay and drivetrain. I am having issues finding resources that show standard engine components and determine what i am missing. I am familiar with the standard components (alt, carb etc) but i have no experience with evap or vacuum systems. Basically, i want to determine current state before i make changes. There are loose wires and wires that go nowhere. Id like to identify and label.

It also has an aftermarket and janky push button start. Id like to revert back to the column ignition.

I am still in the research phase so open to thoughts and opinions. I am dumb but hope to learn a ton throughout this process.

Hope i am in the right place.
These are nice to have:

I believe modern phones are getting cameras that produce an image quality that is too large to upload to sites like this.

The more i dig into the truck, the more work it needs. I am hoping “the bones” are truly as good as they seem.

Ill keep updating this thread with maintenance and repairs made as well as challenges that they introduce.
