Yes, thank you! I would like to see. There's different style plastic kick panels, it's nice to see the differences.

'79 c20. You can see where the holes and clamping action against the paint went in the rust spots on the kick panel area

Here's the actual kick panel and it's obvious where the hood release handle base mounted

Screwed right through the panel into the cab.

Hope that's helpful

Pretty sure that’s the e brake handle.

If you zoom in can see e brake and hood release. Non AC trucks would have a kickpanel vent knob as well but it’s not a T handle.

Edit, pic doesn’t zoom in as good as the original. Hood handle is right behind the e brake pedal.

heres that handle from a better pic, it looks like the difference between yours and the one here is the ol park brake release handle having changed design possibly
The blue truck is a 78 with AC , the handle is just pulled out from where it would be if there was a core support and hood latch mechanism lol

I'll grab some pics of mine tomorrow morning after doing the weekend rounds at work. She gets a little break while I'm on call and have the service truck parked in the drive. It's an 83 non-ac truck with the floor vents. It's a bit crammed in there but GM and their superior engineers figured out how to cram 10 lbs of stuff in a 3 pound bag there lol.

Well, I thought I had all the info. The inside mounting is clear now but does the cable go through a dedicated hole in the firewall or does it share an existing hole? I'm not home at the moment and I don't recall the holes.

Mine goes through here. Probly had a grommit. My choke wire and i think a fuel tank wire got trough it.

I looked at my cab after seeing this pic, since my cab is blasted/primed, and sitting on stands my firewall is fully exposed and easy to get to. In the exact area where your release cable is going through there is a dimple on mine. I thought it was a spot weld but there's nothing behind it. So it appears it's there to show where to put the hole on models with inside hood release. That's a theory but cool to know it's there for anyone else wanting a hole in the factory location.

The dimples are put in many things factory to signify holes to cut. The core support, the grille support , the cab in multiple spots, the fenders
