Is There a 700R4 / 350 Transmission Flexplate / Inspection Cover That Fits?

Hoping you guys can help me out here.

My newly acquired 1973 K10 is missing the flywheel inspection cover on the transmission. I was hoping to find a steel one that actually fits, but the only one I can seem to find is this one:

That's the same one that all the other companies sell, and most of the reviews say that it doesn't even come close to fitting.

Can anyone recommend something that will actually fit? Like I said, 700R4 transmission and Blueprint Engine 396 stroker (which is a stroked 350).

Lastly, I was told I was missing the strut bars connecting that flywheel inspection to the motor mounts. Where do I find that part(s) and what are they called? Even better would be a link!

I'm totally new to K10s so I apologize for all the newbie questions!

If the transmission is a "K" case, it will have the larger M10 bolts that attach the inspection cover to the case. By looking at the pic, it appears they are the larger size. You'll want an original cast aluminum inspection cover, not the stamped sheetmetal one.

You'll just need to keep an eye on eBay for the strut rods. There are brackets that mount between the motor mounts and the engine. The struts mount from those brackets to the cast aluminum cover. I just went through all this on my build. Ideally, you'd find someone selling the struts with the brackets to make sure you have a full set.

Doesn't say if it's a K case cover or not.

I found those brackets you posted a picture of on eBay, I'm going to buy those now.

By chance do you have a photo of your underside with these brackets / struts installed? I'm in no hurry, but a photo would help greatly because I'm sure once I go to install them I'm going to be wondering how exactly they are installed. The photo would help take some confusion out of it.

I would go for it. it's nice and you just have to install it. It takes quite some time driving to junk yards searching for the parts, blast and paint them. Compared to that hours 375$ is a good price. Just my 0.02$

Agreed with above, I'd just take the hit and pay the $375. You won't find any of those pieces in junkyards around here and on the rare occasion some of it pops up on marketplace, I usually see those covers at $200-250 asking prices without the strut rods or brackets

It's interesting to see the difference in markets from midwest to the west coast. In my area you find people selling engine, trans, and tcase all still together in a line because the body got scrapped and they kept the powertrain. You can often pick up all 3 for $500 if you get lucky. Then turn around and resell everything you don't want.

Speaking of that, I did that to source a rebuildable 700r4 and have the cast aluminum cover, bolts, and support rods just sitting around. I'm not sure I have the engine side mounting plates. If you PM me we can work something out that is a better price than that ebay stuff. Not sure what shipping would cost since it's pretty far and these items are a little heavy and bulky.
