I did not get one from lmc. It was another aftermarket supplier, lawrence I think. There was a mounting kit mentioned, but not available from the source. I bought said mounting kit on Amazonian. Glad I did. It would have been a total no go with the factory mounts.

Cool, I'm still waiting on the bracket kit, should be here Monday. The step bumper from LMC has no carriage bolt holes for mounting and the old one did. Will be interesting to say the least. Went to a car show last night and saw a square with something similar and they ended up removing metal off the end of the two protruding arms, that's when I went "f**k" me. Should be able to try and get installed next week and report back, fingers crossed.

I got a bracket kit from LMC for this bumper and had a time getting them to work! Had to use a bunch of washers to space it out, etc.

Looks great! And nothing ever comes easy. I can't wait to see what's in store for me.

I'm a firm believer in turtle shell chrome polish. Works great and seems to leave a film that protects. Might be worth rubbing some on your bumper before you install it. Might give the inside a good coat of rustoleum to keep rust at bay!

Just bought an LMC step bumper / bracket assembly to replace my factory step bumper.
Has anyone done this and are there any nightmare stories since the new one appears to mount differently.

I swapped mine from a step bumper to a sport bumper. Dropped probably 20-30lbs. off the back of the truck.

The lower section of the factory step was a 1/4 thick plate that the ball bolted threw and at either end of that were two vertical 1/4 plates welded on that the brackets bolted too with 2 bolts vertically. The brackets were also 1/4 inch thick plate that angled up with 2 bolt holes that slide inside the frame rails. The rear most went through the frame near the bottom and the front hole bolted on near the top of the frame rail. No external carriage bolts.

Not my pic but you can see the plate along the bottom and the ends of the brackets. These appear to be more in line than mine.
