My (aftermarket) mirrors are fine but kept slipping back from the wind.

When I slid the mirror out, the gasket broke into pieces. (pic attached)

I can't find a new one. Anyone else have this happen? I'm not buying new mirrors over a $2 gasket.

Found this:

GM Part # 14007435

YES! Thank you. I looked...a LOT. The word "grommet" didn't register in my brain. Ordering now.

I'd be l9oking at grommets at home depot etc.
My aftermarket mirrors had the grommets fall apart before getting them installed…. My Dad cut a grommet from a multi size kit in half so it slips down over the gap.

Well I didn't want to get too, ghetto, not saying yours was,but you can make a grommet by slittng a piece of vacuum tubing lengthwise and feeding it into the opening. Depending on what it's being used for superglue the exposed ends together..

That's an easy CAD project, if you know somebody with the gear. 3D print grommets from TPU filament, and they'll be better than stock.

You can use a piece of vacuum line slit down one side and maybe a touch of weatherstrip adhesive to seal the ends.
