I like the idea. Obviously the wheel you're using is a 5 lug and your burb is a 6 lug. Also, you'll want to check that the old rim will fit over the hub of the burb and I do believe you have to use a 16" or larger rim due to the size of the calipers. Just some things to think about.

Yeah, going with Stock steelies with rings and caps from a 98 GMC K1500. gonna paint the wheels black.

I couldn't find a pic of that setup on the interweb thingy.

Right, I have had to try and imagine how it would look. I don't want to go too retro on this body style but the 20" just scream Pimp to me. plus It need to go more places than parking lots and wet grass.

A late report on how things are going. Got the steering parts replaced over the weekend. I managed to get the pitman arm off without pulling the gear from the truck. I just unbolted it and flopped it on its side with a block under it. Pulled the old one and put the new one on. Got the idler arm and bearing in on the other side too. I had to adjust the lash in the steering gear too. The truck must have been ligned up with loose parts at one time because when I was done the wheel was off an 1/8th turn. She didn't pull at all so I got the tie rods loose and centered the wheel up. Drives real good for now. Next chance I get she goes to get lined up. I had a clunk in the drivers door when I closed it. I found a loose bolt for the regulator. I learned the window switch is held in with one clip and a screw from the inside. I snapped the screw boss off but there was enough left to catch with a longer screw. DOH! Anyway, lovin the ride and drive of this thing and I can just imagine having an LS motor like this in a square.

I think the standard wheel size for the GMT800 Burbs/hoes and trucks was 16" so you will be fine there if you go with a 16" steelie. Keep in mind that the Police Tahoes used a 17" steelie with a cap too if you like that look too.

This one was stock with 17s but has a 16 steel spare. I was inspired by the police hoes to go this route but have some new 16" gooyear wrangler duratracs on the red truck that I want to repurpose. Unfortunatly going with 16s meant I couldn't do the big brake upgrade since they don't clear but with a 16" spare a flat on the front would mean a fire drill anyway. I just used premium brake parts instead and once the rear brakes are done it'll stop fine.

Good choice, George. Those big brake kits are fine but IMO they are overpriced and you can get just as much stopping power out of OEM spec high quality parts

I had done a little research and learned that if you buy rotors and loaded calipers with the brackets for an 07 they bolt right on. The added cost was minimal and I imagine salvage yard parts would be even cheaper. I was close to going that route but didn't want 17" wheels which would have been requires to clear the brakes. You can also go with the police persuit rear brake components to upgrade the rears. All factory parts....

^^^that's true. When you first mentioned "big brake upgrade" I assumed Willwood or Baer so that's where my post came from :) But you're right, many people do "upgrade" their brakes with 07+ calipers and rotors but if you don't want to run a 17" rim or larger then it's not an option :)
