Been lurking and sending pm's, but laying low with posting.

He's doing the head gaskets so I think it's pretty mandatory to take them loose and take out the pushrods.

Oh, I just jumped to the pics on the last page and thought it was intake gaskets only. Watch your back 89S, them bitches is heavy.

Good news is the exhaust was no problem at all.

Bad news is the pass side head is cracked on both #3 & #5 cylinders. :sad72:

I'll throw up some pics after I scrub up and take a shower. Definatley got some very sore body parts.

Just the one head. I will look for a used one this week. The other head looked fine and both head gaskets were fine. After I pulled the bad head off, I saw a rusty water stain around the center exhaust ports on the outside of the head. That was the clue. Sure enough when I looked where the valves were in the combustion chamber, I saw the hair line cracks.

I am sore as ****. Me and the kids are hitting the river for some liquid therapy. I'll put the pics up when I find the time.

that is good and bad news, good you found the problem and didn't put it back together, should be somewhat easy to find a head for it, not sure if you have ever tried carpart.com

Too bad you're not a little closer, I have a pair of those heads in really good shape. They've just been sitting around.

I'd replace both heads new and keep the one good one as a spare.
