Have a 86 k5 and the wiper motor will not shut off unless I unplug it. Have replaced motor and switch but same issue occurs. Could this be caused by the box in the steering column the switch goes into or should I be looking for a short/ burnt wires of some kind? Anyone else ever have this issue?

Most likely the wiper switch itself in the column. Raylanr and I are having the same problem on his crew cab and I've diagnosed it as the switch.

Two likely causes:

1. Park switch is bad or there is a short to ground in the wiring (usually in the column)

2. If you have intermittent wipers, the pulse module may be bad.
