Where have you put oil and temp gauges, pics please.

I don’t want to rely on factory gauges for oil and temp. One way to fix that is to upgrade, however, I’ve always liked the looks of stock instrument clusters.
You guys are smart , where have you found to install a 2” gauge “out of the way” but still able to seen?

I haven't found a good spot, lol. In one truck I had, I put an oil pressure gauge at the bottom of the dash, to the left of the steering column. It was a terrible spot for easy viewing, but it was out of the way.

In a current truck, there's a 2-gauge panel mounted directly below the radio. It's easy to view, but looks odd because they are facing up. I'm not crazy about it, but they were put there by the original owner when the truck was new. I can get a picture of that setup.

All mechanical gages, they are in front of stock gages.

I found a really good spot almost like it was made for gauges like that, just to the left of the speedometer There are 4 round cutouts, sometimes they have a clock, oil pressure, water temp, and believe it or not, sometimes even a Ameter....

Since I don't have AC I had that kinda worthless cubby on the upper right of the dash. I was able to put 2 gauges up there.

I believe others that had the vent there removed the vent and did the same thing.

here's how I did mine. Not the final product, because eventually when I redo the interior I'm going to make it more custom, but this will still pretty much be how it's laid out.

Almost as if they were were made to go there, lol!!!!

You know the only thing I ever read is that having them flat on the bezel makes them a little harder to read while driving. Any feedback on that? I've been fine with the idea of stock gauges and if I really want a tach I was just going to put one of the mini ones up on the dash by the A pillar. Back in the day when I had my 77 I put it on the steering column but got tired of the cables being loose, to accomodate shifting the gear selector.

Truthfully, I don't think it's an issue at all. If I drive with my left hand at the 12 o'clock position it obsures them just a little bit, but no more than it would with the factory gauges in those positions. As for the tach, I have mine up on the dash just to the right of the kickout for the gauges. Some don't like it there or on the dash at all, and some do. it all boils down to personal preference I think.
