A sound system is a must as much or more than AC for me.

The point is to make it something you can cruise in, and not just haul stuff with. For me anyway.

I want to use this truck as much as possible so the things i do to it need to support that end goal.

I like it when I get my mirrors to shake, makes me think I'm driving during an earthquake. I may be 64 but I like to hit the tunes hard.

Do you have a working OE radio? Somewhere whether it's here on GMSB or FB or etc., some guy converts the factory one to have Bluetooth also or something like that, just can't remember where I saw that.

I'm really happy with my swap to the Sony and it sounds way better than the 20 year old Kenwood. That said-I would not have done it if I didn't have that expensive head unit sitting on my shelf gathering dust. New ones are crazy expensive. Think it went up a couple hundred bucks since I bought it for the Subaru. And its really good to be able to have hands free phone when my wife or work calls

Stock appearance does look good, but you could find a cheap used bezel and cut out radio portion for a single DIN and stash yours away.
If stock appearance is priority then something like this:

so is that the opening notes to AC/DC dirty deeds?

or the 40 year old mirror fasteners / gaskets giving out.

I did see them once 1991 ?? (inside the hockey+ basketball arena in Albany, NY...all aluminum, steel, and concrete) my older brother had 10 years of more thoughts, going to 10 more years of loud rock concerts and stuffed wads of paper towels in his ears.
...I did not, and my ears rang for 5 years.

I saw them in the late 70's before Bon Scott died was frigging awesome, now if I could remember the concert. I did see Angus carry Bon though!

search it up. fan sites and official band sites have the tour dates and sometimes the set lists
(like here is where I was on July 5th, 1991).

and I have asked people with "lots" of antiques with their original radios/ speakers in them, if pulling the dash and doors apart is not in the cards for time in your life/ headache/ and possibly ruining great looking trim parts.

such becomes: just bring a portable radio/ bluetooth speaker and enjoy the ride and move it to another and have another ride,....its not the end of the world.
(such coming from old dudes with 10 antique cars/ pickups, and not every one of them can be perfect, and none are daily drivers).

and you can get some pretty big sound out of a single / pair of bluetooth speakers, toss them behind the seat / under the seat, use them around the house, garage, picnic ... take the classics everywhere.
(and that maybe better in the long run for your wallet).

I bought a converted OE unit from a guy here. He will convert yours or sell you a complete unit. I don't need touch screens or anything beyond the ability to get music on my phone to play in my truck. This solves the issue for me. If you need his name just PM me.

BTW I have seen AC/DC at least 10 times and they never disappoint.
