Now that haul is beyond a score! Made out like a bandit! Congratulations!
Thank you! I still kind of can't believe it!

Had the day off of work so I headed up to the shop early and got it pushed out from under the lift.

Not too hard to push by hand half at a time.

The DRO does work, but it is extremely dim and took about 15 minutes on to "warm up." The reset and preset and thumb switches are a little flakey. I'll likely upgrade to a modern setup.

Was electro static discharge certified pretty recently. This would explain why it has numerous extra grounds, like on the one shot lube pump has a ground lead from it.

Some super clean took the oil scunge right off.

Decided on a home for it for now, I have a VFD on the way, should be able to get power to it soon.

The power feed was running in neutral, and would only go to the right. I discovered that one of the limit switches was contaminated with oil and was loose. Removed and sprayed out the switch with contact cleaner and remounted and now it works as it should.

Got a fair bit of scrubbing left to do, need to level it, etc, etc. Indicator on the taper showed about .0005 tir, hard to complain about that.

The Bridgeport is one of my favorite tools in the shop. Is that the 36" table?

Also, you said a VFD? Wouldn't you be looking for a phase converter?

Got a couple gift cards to HF for Xmas so went shopping yesterday

First grab was a cart for the welder my dad bought me last xmas. This year was too crazy, I never got a chance to get it set up and start playing with it. I'll need it for modifying/rebuilding my exhaust on the C10 so it's time to start gathering the rest of the stuff

Grabbed some welding pliers, butt clamps and the step bits were my "free gift" for being an ITC member

Been wanting the hydraulic wire crimper for a while. I'll be relocating the battery to under the pass side of the truck, so I'll need to make some 0 gauge battery cables, this will do nicely

My dad got me the 1/2" lockable ICON ratchet. I grabbed the 3/8" lockable one cuz I've been eyeing it for a while now too

Started to grab a welding helmet but decided to hold off and do a little more asking around/research. Started to grab the red one up top for $49 but I think the one I've been using at work is the $149 red/white/blue Vulcan on the bottom row. Less than 7sq/in vs 10.1sq/in of viewing area, don't think I wanna go backwards.

Oh and my brother got me this headband light. Played with it in the house a little bit, this is gonna be handy! It has the LED strip all across your forehead and then a spot light on the side as well. Can use it by pushing the buttons or set it up to just swipe your hand by it to turn it on/off

I forgot to measure but it's a 42" table I believe.

The vfd I got is a 220 single phase in, 220 three phase out. They can be had very reasonable these days, the one I got was a whopping $45. For a 1hp motor like this one, one could even get a vfd that will operate on 110v, if they so desired. The vfd route is much better than a static phase converter (add-a-phase) or "digital" phase converters (which are still just phase shifting and single phasing the motor).

It's also nice as there are tons of wiring options/configurations for the control side of the VFDs, and features you don't get with a rotary, static, or even three phase off of the pole. And they are low voltage control, like a magnetic starter, and offer circuitry protection and speed control by varying the freq.

I will be finding or making a nice enclosure for the drive at some point, and wire it up with something better than test leads...

I have this push button wired as a fwd jog button, when pushed the spindle jogs at 20hz

Have the original fwd/rev switch wired in for now.

All I have is a 3/8" keyless chuck for the moment, and a drill press vise with zero t slot hardware, so I just drilled a 5/16" hole in a piece of steel, but it did fine. Also trammed the head.

You keep this up and you're gonna need a bigger shop Spencer!

I think I have passed that point a while ago. I’m really glad I did the whole racking project it opened things up a fair bit.

I think I could comfortably fill up a 50x60 shop…

Stihl sh 86c, supposed to be a $400 unit new, picked it up for $60! It can apparently suck and bag leaves too, came with a bagger and a couple extensions. I'll never use that though.

From fall to end of spring I've got to deal with leaves in the garage all the time, so sick of it lol. Can sweep them out the door or in the garbage but they always come back. It's easy to sweep leaves on a smooth surface but once out the door they break into a million pieces and don't go anywhere.

Add the North Dakota winds and you'll forever be dealing with leaves.
The air compressor only works so good, it's more of a disperser than a blower:rofl:

This thing works great! And for dust too. Actually pushes stuff instead of spreading. Runs great honestly. Has some use but looks decently cared for. Other than the paint...

Tub'o towels on the paint and scuffs worked great! Needed plastic razor blade for a couple chunks of paint. The thing cleaned up nice. Spark plug looked used but good. The tube is a little scraped up.

The thing looks pretty good!

That's good to know. I have a 3 ph drill press that was going to get a rotary converter, but this is a better, and probably cheaper option.

I was lucky, the Bridgeport already had a single phase motor.
