I know this has been discussed a lot but I'm getting very frustrated. I have a 79 K10 that had water in both corners of the floor and also by the brake pedal area. I resealed the cowl, resealed both kick panels and cleaned out both fender drip areas. The good news is the drivers side is dry and the leak from the cowl area by the brake pedal seems to be gone now. The bad news is we got a big rain last night and the passenger side had a puddle. Before that side would only be a tiny bit that seemed to come from the kick panel which I have since resealed. This was the most water I have ever seen on this side now. What else can I do? I have done the hose/bucket test and the cowl seems sealed now. Whats left other than possibly the windshield? Can the seals around the door or glass make a difference for water?

I know door seals are cheap to replace but I hear horror stories about the doors needing to be slammed to close so really was trying to avoid doing those. There doesnt seem to be rust around the windshield corners either so I dont know. Was trying not to just throw parts at it but not sure what else it could be at this point

Get in the cab and have someone hose it down.

Mine leaks and i suspect the door seals.

I've heard the job is a PITA not that it makes the door harder to shut.

You know the 1/2" pex trick?

The water was running down the front of my blower motor housing, and entering through a spot that had missing sealant. So water made it into the blower and then onto the floor. A little sealant fixed it.

I thought they just popped on the pinch welds so thought it would be easy. The pex trick, is that on the striker that you are talking about?

Yup, slice it lengthwise on the side and slip it around the striker. Helps it shut easier.

There either is or isn’t. Have you peeked under the windshield gasket?
If you haven’t, the drain holes under the gasket could be plugged up. Not as likely and I can’t visualize the water path but I know from experience water gets trapped under there. I added more drain holes under the gasket on the 86. For rust prevention not necessarily leaking.

Does the water taste sweet?
Do your wing windows seal well?
Thinking of other things simpler than hidden rust holes. Idk the condition of the truck

Truck is fairly rust free. Its definitely not the heater core. We had a downpoor and I almost wonder if I didnt have the door closed good or something. I will do some more water tests when I can.
