Vintage Air Gen V (5) or replace existing compressor, etc., for 1987 R20 Suburban?

Thanks. I bought a new one, so plan on replacing it.

make sure air blows through it before you install it. reason I stress that is I didn't do that one time and then had to tear it down and replace it again.....new parts sometimes are also bad.

Any thoughts on how to repair this heater box? Was held on with two short lag bolts at the bottom from inside the truck.
And the plastic tab that holds the spring/cable is broken off.

Anyone epoxy repaired, or maybe there are replacement tabs/reinforcements you can buy?

I ended up using an Adele style clamp from the hardware store. Still not finished with everything, so not sure how it’ll work long term. I have the heater box mostly back in and the cable seems to function correctly.

This tread has been a while ago but I would like to ask what A/C condenser you used?
It was a new parallel flow with increased efficiency and a drop in to fit the same as the original you say, this is what I am looking for.
If you could tell me the make and model or information where you bought it, that would be great!
