Have an 87 k10 with a lock on the cab on the driver side. Niether the lock or ignition key fit. Curious as to what its for or if its something a previous owner added

The only thing I saw close on a search was perhaps an antique alarm system. I have seen a few of those capped locks but not recently.

Back to the top for a bit, though.:)

Older car alarms (before key fobs) used to have a keyed on/off switch. Corvettes even had an optional factory alarm that put the key switch on the front left fender. However, I’ve never seen a GM one where they made the switch so visible on the drivers door.
