truck pulls to right

my k20 pulls to the right when i brake. so the right side caliper is hanging up right?? or the left is. is it possible for the drums to hang up and pull also??

Sounds like your caliper is on backwards and causing the rotor to accelerate instead of decelerate when you push the brake.......

Im gonna beat everyone to the punch and say brake lines collapsed or a frozen caliper. Could possibly even be the caliper guide pins they move on being rusted solid to the point the caliper does not want to move. A number of things can cause it, I suggest pulling the wheels off and taking everything apart for a visual inspection of your calipers, pads and brake lines.

If it pulls right then right side is working. I would be looking at the left.

Mine use to do that till I changed out the brake proportioning valve. But I was going rear disc brakes anyways.

Yep, right pull means, right side is working and left is NOT. Now if it was pulling to the right AFTER you let off the brakes, then yes, the right side is hanging up with probably a bad brake hose. But sounds like you need to look at the left caliper and find out why it's not applying any brake pressure.

Could also be the left rear is not adjusted out far enough.mine does this

That shouldn't matter on front pull. Only the front brakes will matter on the steer axle.

Also, check the condition of the front spring bushings. Mine pulled left like crazy under hard braking, so I replaced both calipers, the pads, and all of the brake flex hoses, and there was no change. I finally had my buddy's shop replace the spring bushings (and I had an alignment done after that) and that cured it.

Yah, I think the left caliper is a little snitty. It don't yank the wheel out of your hand, but you get used to applying a little left turn on a hard stop lol...

My truck also pulls to the right when braking. Thinking of replacing the left caliper. It's a c not a k though. 1975 Scottsdale c20 camper special 454 automatic

Welcome to GMSB Steve. Probably not a bad idea. It wouldn't hurt to give a thorough front brake insptection. Pretty cheap to do them all on the 2wd units.
