I replaced the Distributor on my 1981 Chevy C10 Custom deluxe 250 L6, and then re-timed it as per requirement of doing those sorts of things, It fires now, which is more then before, but it now just cranks and cranks, and sometimes Backfires, I even had a mechanic friend help me time it using the timing marks. Any Suggestions as to what could be wrong? Could it be the Carb?

I have to ask. Did you and your friend use a timing light? Are you sure the wires are on correctly in the right order?

Could be 180 out if it's not firing.

That was my thought too.

Yeah, usually they'll run if the timing is pretty badly off, but 180 out usually get's you nowhere.
