So I live several miles out of town, and the last 1 1/2 miles is really bad washboard. I know the county can do a decent job grading it, because they've done it before, but the last time was like 5 years ago, and they haven't done a grading job that's last more than a week, since.

The car I'm thinking of in specific, is a 2016 Mazda 3, but I'm just thinking in general, too.

IMO new cars ride like crap. Very stiff, or at least feels like it.

Sorry, the darn site keeping kicking me off, and I didn't get my whole post up. What I meant to ask was: Is it possible to upgrade suspension in some way, so that you spend more in one place, but save money elsewhere? Like buying some really expensive shocks, or something like that?

A low/small car is never gonna take washboard roads well, just gotta take it slow. A Jeep or something that has lots of soft/longer travel suspension options would be my pick
