This question has come up on another forum.

Some say that the TH350 was no longer available in a 1984 1/2 ton GM pickup, but had been replaced by the 700R4.

So, the question is: Was the TH350 still available in a 1984 1/2 ton GM pickup ?

Yeah, I'd seen that. But other online trans info says that the TH350 had been completely replaced by the 700R4, by 1984. So, do ya'll have any other links to info showing that the TH350 was indeed still an option in a 1984 GM pickup ?

After further online searching, I found these sites which say that the TH350C was used in some 2WD trucks & vans thru 1986. Can anybody here confirm this ?

Yes, that is true. It was used through and up until 86. Some 82-84's were even converted to Th350C from 700r4 by GM at request of the customer for repeated reliability problems. Customers had enough headache and GM offered and they took the offer and got rid of the weak OD.
