Recently sprang a leak in my radiator (1986 k10) and got my engine pretty hot but luckily cooled it off quickly and all is good.

During the high temp issue I know the gauges inside the truck were working. Now that I have a new radiator and thermostat in place both my oil pressure and temp aren't working.

I put a new temp sending unit in and didn't fix coolant reading. Both are pegged out zero. The temp moves slightly down when the key is turned on, but neither read anymore - just stay pegged at zero.

Did I lose a ground? Any help would be appreciated. BTW - voltage is reading fine - I have checked all fuses and nothing was blown.

Make sure the Oil Pressure sender didn't get disconnected. And verify that your coolant is actually reaching operating temperasure. I hate to have to say that but we tried for like 2 weeks with one guy. My temp gauge doesn't work,I've done this I've done that,I've tested this. Finally. Uhh my thermostat was stuck open,I got a new thermostat everythings fine now. Take resistance readings of the new sender, hot and cold post results.

Easy way to check the wiring is to temporarily ground the sending wire - that should make the gauge go off-scale high. Have someone else watch as you do this because leaving like that for long might not make it happy. You don't even need to let it go all the way off scale - if the needle starts to move upward when you ground the wire, that will confirm the gauge is working. If it doesn't, then you have a starting point for where to start troubleshooting.
