I put a switch panel in a center console that I made. Ran the wiring under the carpet to the switches. Fit pretty good between the transfer case shifter and the bottom of the dash.

Have also seen guys replace the ash tray with a small set of switches too.

I've got a rear locker switch, and a fan switch in the rear corners of the cab, along with my speakers. I just spray painted plywood and mounted everything up. I figured I'd do that so that everything looks as stock as possible, and so I don't have anything cut up in the dash. It works pretty good, I just have to finish securing them yet. I'll attach a picture later.
