I am having the truck painted next week. Bought new bumpers, tailgate, tail lights, grille molding, phantom grill, new windshield, new sliding rear windshield, 3 inch body lift. Already put in new carpet, reupholstered seats myself, new steering wheel. She should be looking good. The only problem I am having is I paid a mechanic $850 to replace a bunch of seals and bushings, new carburetor, new air cleaner, fluid reservoirs. Now the engine diesels whenever it gets to operating temperature and the mechanic wont fix it. Guess that's what I get for going to my brother-in-laws uncle. lol

Either a vac leak or the throttle is too far open at idle.

Could it be the timing? I have no idea on how to fix any of this. Probably better to take it to a different mechanic.

So I got a family member to do the re-upholstery of the dash pad for me. The po had did a terrible bondo job and the truck bed lined the dash pad. My plan is to sand it down as smooth as possible. My family member is going to make a marine grade vinyl cover that will stretch and fit perfectly over the new pad. I will use 3M Super 77, stretch the new vinyl and secure it some how on the back side. Ill let yall know how it goes and start throwing some pictures up throughout the process.

Wow, that vinyl looks awesome! I wish I knew someone that did upholstery.

The aluminum trim piece looks good, I just don't like those slots they cut in it. Why they don't just put the normal vent cutouts in it is beyond me.

Lol to each his own i guess. I think they where going for a rat rod style look is why they did the slits. They work for and I like them. The dash pad turn out great. Couldn't be happier with it plus I didn't have to spend the money on another one that I wouldn't be happy with.
