Does anybody have a photo or video of their subwoofer setup under the seat or behind the seat. I was thinking of putting a single 10 but need ideas for how to fit in under or behind the seat. Thanks for any input.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a 10” sub that will fit under the seat in a square…

This is a 13.5” shallow mount but was just a little too big to fit behind the seat and have the seat go all the way back without making some modifications to the seat frame.

If you build a box for a shallow mount 10” you should be able to get the appropriate air space (box volume) and get the seat back.

One trick is to build the box narrower than the vertical bars on the seat back, this allows the box to kinda press into the seat back. I made this box full width causing it to hit the seat frame necessitating modification of the seat.

Another way to get the seat farther back is to angle the box to match the angle of the seat back. Also, max height can only be about 14” before the box hits the bump on the back of the cab.

If you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket Sloshtubz sells really nice looking custom speaker boxes for the square body’s

I avoided the under-seat sub install because I wanted quick access for "just in case" reasons like tuning or heat concerns.

Yeah the heat is a concern. Is the Rockville one worth it or of a reputable brand or quality.

I like it very much, a quick and ez install, didn't lose hardly any space between me and the steering wheel. Running a 78 amp alt and no issues. Passengers get to enjoy the vibration bwahahaha.
Rockville IMO is great, they're up there in quality with the likes of Skar and CT Sounds. Take the measurements, apply to a piece of cardboard and determine if the size represents an issue or not.

Bazooka 10" subs. Amp in the middle runs all speaks (has built in adjustable cross over). Cover comes off to adjust everything.
To be hinest, it's way more than the single cab truck needs but it does hit pretty hard.

Anymore ive gone to the powered subwoofers, im not trying to compete with anyone for sound, they are cheaper than buying a sub, box, and amp, smaller space needed, and put out pretty good sound.

I bought a wedge shaped box for 10" that was covered with black cloth.
Pulled the cloth back a little ways, and cut 7/8" off the back of it with a Skillsaw.
Broke the 7/8" off the back panel with Channellocks, then glued and screwed the back panel back on, and reglued the cloth.
It sits behind the passenger side of the seat, and the seat will still slide all the way back.

Under seat. 10” powered sub. Does well for what it is. Clean clear bass. Won’t blow out no windows or set of car alarms though.
I hid everything under the seat. And 4 speakers in the factory holes.
Turned out good and loud for a small amp, 4x10s and 3.5s.

The sub got attached to the floor. I left the amp “floating” with enough slack to pull it out enough to adjust it. Amp is positioned where level adjustments can be reached as well.

For sub wiring diagrams, you cannot beat the Crutchfield site.

I have highlighted the links that you will choose to see the actual wiring and how to run it all for the power you are looking to run.

I am planning on running a pair of 2 single voice coil 2-ohm subs at 1 ohm of impedance.
So I hit that link and this appears.
Now match the wiring and you have a 1 ohm load on the amplifier.

Make sure your amp can run the ohm load you want so you don't blow things up.
