I am swapping a 78 tilt steering column into a 74 cab. The turn signal plugs are different. Do they make an adapter for the plugs? I dont want to splice the wires if possible. Thanks.

Im not sure if they make adaptor plugs, but you can just splice a connector on one side, to work with the other instead of just splicing the wires together with no connector.

geezus don't splice learn to do it properly and repin the connectors. nothing like looking under a dash to a hack job.

Turn signal switches are cheap. Put a new 74 turn signal switch in the 78 column.

How hard is it to depin the connections? I did find a new connector on the web. I saw the steering column interchange thread which answered some of my questions as well on what would work for me.

I put a 78 Automatic steering column in my 73 that had the three on the tree. I didn't have any problems hooking it up to the 73 wiring, and there was an adapter there. I'll go and see if I can get a pic and a part number.

Don't cut and splice you'll make a mess and there's no need for it.
I believe the column connectors are Pak Con I. The female terminals are on the cab side and the male terminals are on the switch pigtail. Don't monkey with the cab side.
Download the wiring diagrams for 1974 & 1978.
Grab some paper and a pencil. Make yourself a table of the wire colors, position letters, and actual function for the 1978 turnsignal switch. Make another table with the same info for the 1974.

The male Pak Con I terminals have a single retention tang. There should be a small slot for the removal tool. I usually use a #000 flat precision screwdriver or one of the removal bars in my SIR Tools 9025 fold up terminal extraction tool. The correct removal tool is the same one used on Metripack 150 terminals... Delphi 12094430.
