I just trashed the SM465 in my K10 4x4 I'm probably going to swap to a TH350. I have a 208c behind the 465 I'm going to continue using the 208 I'm wondering if I'm going to need and adapter to connect to a th350, will I have to move the cross member at all and will I need different drive shafts. Any advice?

I personally would rebuild the sm465, or if it's past rebuilding find a good used but not abused one. a 350 is a downgrade in strength. imho. highdesertranger

I went from SM465 to TH350 and love it. I built the trans though with internal dual feed and a couple other mods so just swapping in a regular slushbox may not bring you much joy. Crossmember did not change location, but I have a NP205 so not sure about some of the other measurements. If you have to change adapters it may all change. I had to have my shafts custom cut, not because of the trans swap but more for the axles so yours may work. The adapter, that's a good question, @HotRodPC should know for sure.

There is an early and a late 4x4 SM465. Early ones were course 10 spline output. Later ones were 32 spline output. So either way, you'd have to change your input on the NP208 since the Th350/Th350C and 700r4/4L60-E used 27 spline outputs. Easier to just find an NP208 or NP241C off of a 700r4, then that adapter also fits the Th350 with the length modified Th350 output shaft.

Might be easier to find an NP205 for the TH350 and upgrade from the 208.
