I recently swapped in an SM465 and np208 setup in my 74 k10 and put a brand new zoom clutch in it. Ive probably put 1500 miles on it but it sat for a couple months. Sometimes when i Push the clutch in everything works fine but other times, it acts like the clutch isnt all the way in. It wont let you shift gears without double clutching it and it wont go into gear at a stop sign. Sometimes it also likes to jump forward when starting it. Ive got the clutch adjusted as much as i can but still no good. It looks like somebody has cut off the adjustment rod so i figured maybe its not fully disengages but i dont know why it doesnt do it all the time.

How much top play is in the pedal? You shouldnt have much more than 1-2" of play in my book. My 465 is tough to get into gear and downshift sometimes too. The gears and rotating assembly is heavy in them so I expect it. I'm just used to double clutching when needed. Also I have read that they like GL-4 gear lube better than GL-5. Due to the friction modifiers in GL-5 the syncros don't work as well. I haven't had the chance to change my lube yet to test that theory myself but I plan too this summer.

If it jumps forward when starting, the clutch isn't releasing all the way.

Does the clutch start to engage as soon as you starting lifting off the pedal? There should be some movement before the clutch even starts to grab.

Is it a hydraulic assembly, or mechanical linkage?

I think checking your linkage would be a good starting point. Let us know what you find out.
