Quick question

on a slave cylinder that is work properly as it should, should I be able to compress the boot without any kind of resistance? In simple terms should it feel hard to push if everything is working properly?

I know that if it leaks and you squeeze it the fluid will come out, thus giving me the assumption that it should have some "firmess" or "resistance" when I squeeze it.

Kind of confused about your question. Yo mean the resistance of pushing the plunger in? By hand or by pedal?

Sorry, plunger by hand.

While laid up under the truck I can "squeeze" the plunger by hand and nothing comes out, or there is like there is nothing in the plunger.

I've been told that if there is a leak, and you squeeze the plunger that dot 3 will come out, thus obvious you have a leak.

School me though, I don't really know.

It should be fairly stiff, but you can push it back under normal circumstances. The fluid just goes up into the reservoir.
