The insides of the "little" VW engines are crazy when you know how other engines are built.

This is the induction system for my little 2332 engine.
The carbs flow over 1,200cfm together.
Intake manifolds are match ported half way up on the head side.
The heads cost near $1,000 for 4 cylinders, but they are pro-ported and flow like little champs.

This is the cam that I have for it.
But since this is a really long term project, I may change it out to one that has more lift....

The stock length cylinders for my combo are too short.
There is just too much piston hanging out of the cylinder, so I had to have custom length cylinders cut down to get me to zero deck.

This was where the engine program was headed with the above FK-8 cam I have.
It will all change now as I have a set of semi custom Wiseco pistons for the engine that allows it to run 10-11:1 on the street and stay cool.
Those are one of the reasons I am thinking of changing to a larger camshaft.

The above combo is internet proven to be around 160hp all day long and has a wicked flat torque curve.
In a tiny car that originally came with 60 ponies, I should have a smile the entire time I am behind the wheel.

Don't say might change the cam, FK-10 at least or I'll be disappointed.
That would not be the "hero cam" you've trained me on...

For some messed up reason, I decided that I needed a K-Car

More specifically, an '82 Dodge Aries with a 2.2 and a 4 speed.

I really just bought it for entertainment purposes, but somehow I've put 800 miles on it in the last month.

This thing had sat since 2009, and I barley did anything to it to get it back on the road (An alternator, tires, and a new accelerator pump).

I've built some engines like this,I had Blanchard grond barrel shims made. It's been a long time,I think last one was a 2" Chevy rod,82mm stroke. I think I had rydell machine make the barrel spacers.

Here we are dead on the busiest part of the busiest highway in the state.
Fuel pump decided it doesn't want to do its job anymore.

Off to timeout it goes tonight after work, time for the other car to come out and get abused until my Suburban is running.

At least this one gets 22mpg with my foot on the floor for most of the driving.

At least your in a cool truck while on the side of the road. My 53 has a 283 and pretty tight spot changing the fuel pump
PO put an electric fuel pump on this one as the company he used for the S10 chassis swap didn't offer engine mounts tall enough to run a mech pump.
Not done in a permanent or correct manner at all, but F' it, we ball.
It'll get a more proper setup when it comes back.
Ridiculously fun truck when it doesn't die on me.
I had just gotten done stabbing it on the on ramp up to probably 85 (did some work that woke it back up, had to test it out on the parts run), then the fuel pump decided that was enough fueling for the night.

Only other time its left me stranded was when the...temporary...driveshaft decided it was done being straight and turned into a pretzel.
Funnily enough, same spot on the highway, just the other side when that happened.

I run a electric on my 84. They aren't bad until leaves ya stranded lol. I'd like to have a s10 chassis also. Yours sits a lot lower than mine. Very cool truck man!
