Yo, just curious if anyone makes a shorter column shifter. If I have mine down to first, the handle is resting on my knee.

Also, where can I get a replacement handle? The PO put this ugly green skeleton head on there and I really want something a bit more mature.

Thanks!

Resting on your knee? How tall are you? 7 feet?

Sounds like something is out of alignment or not working properly as it should never go down that far.

Nah, 6' 2" with long legs. Everything works as indicated on dash. It just seems anytime I want to use 1st, I don't have any room to move my right leg until I up shift to 2nd. Column has R N OD D 2 1. It's prolly just me. I have a hard time fitting in vehicles.

May I ask what you bother using 1st for?

I can't remember the last time I went for anything lower than 3rd. It's an auto, let it do it's thing.

I hardly use it; but, when I want to push beyond the current shift points, I shift manually.

TBI 350 doesn't like being past 5K, your trans should shift there (or close to it) at wide open throttle.

So basically, the shifter rests in these positions:

Park = 2 o'clock
OD = 3:20
1st = About 4 O'clock or so

When in OD, the handle of the shifter is about 3 fingers above my knee (maybe 2 inches).

So, does this sound correct?
