Shackle/hanger or lowering springs?

I'm looking at lowering my 86 C10. Planning to keep it tame with a 2/4. I was just wondering what the opinions were on shackles/hangers vs lowering springs? Obviously the springs seem more expensive but I just wondered what the benefits of either were and what you guys would suggest?

i wouldn't think twice about the shackles/hangers, unless you needed new springs anyway.

I do need new springs. I think I'm rocking about a 2" lowering version of spring sag right now cause I'm sitting pretty level.

Go with the shackles/hangers and / or remove the overload spring. I did this to achieve my drop out back (but with this combination I achieved a 7" drop) I have drop spindles and coils up front. Depending on the drop bracket used, you ay have to slightly hotch the bed rails underneath to allow full movement of the shackle.
