LOL- just remember that my dash picture shows the wrong location for the indicator. My PO or one of their mechanics got creative with the bulb fixes and wires like that one. Nothing I could not repair and then do it again and yet again...
I can’t even begin to figure out what my PO has done

Did you find the rig you were looking for?
I never found my Dad’s original. That proved to be MUCH more complicated than I thought it would be. In all likelihood, a 1979 manual transmission Scottsdale from NJ that I know had the beginnings of rust issues when we sold it in 1990, last registered in NJ in 2001, is probably junked or crushed. But I found a 1979 manual (I didn’t know it was initially an automatic transmission) in TX and had it shipped up. I have been fooling around with it ever since. I love the truck and love driving it when it doesn’t leave me stranded on the side of the road for a still undetermined reason, lol. I have pulled almost all the interior out and have the passenger side floor panel rusted, to fix it. Then, I we can give it a quick interior spray to get it to Dad’s original color, and I can begin to put the inside back together, at least. Fingers crossed that will happen soon.

I am sure you guys are tired of one issue after another. BUT I got in today to go for a little bit wider ride around the neighborhood. As I had mentioned yeaterday I did an oil change and just started it to check the oil pressure and levels. It seemed fine however; when I tried to head out today it would not engage in low, first, second, or third as well as reverse. Also I am able to leave it in gear and let the clutch all the way out without stalling. I am sorry to ask again but any thoughts. I read a few posts and they are talking about the clutch disk, shifter linkage, or low transmission fluid. I will check the linkage as best I can today. I don’t have the knowledge or ability to check the clutch disk. It just seems weird that it happened out of the blue like this.

Sorry all. I figured it out. It got hit into or out of gear on the 4WD. I corrected that and it is moving normally. Thanks all.

Today I was able to replace the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. I have attached some pictures of the plugs. They dont look good to me but I don’t really know what I am looking for. If you could let me know what you think it would be much appriciated. I was able to take it out for a 6 or 7 mile ride today and I am happy to say it performed well. Fingers crossed. I will keep you guys in the loop.

Here are some pics of the cruise transducer @Oldschooler Sorry I could not get them to send to you directly.
Thanks for the pictures, but I don't need the transducer. I need the servo and bracket that bolts on to the back of the driver's side head and the carburetor linkage from the servo to the carburetor. I've attached a file that shows the part labeled POWER UNIT (SERVO). Thanks.

That does not look familiar to me. If you have a picture of it, I'll take a look and see what's there. It seems like the PO replaced the original carb with an EB, so there's a good chance that he also removed it due to the manual transmission conversion.

On another note. Do any of you know what this (relay?) goes to? I can tell you the black/brown wire goes down to a connection that ran out of the fire wall and to the cruse control unit in the fenderwell. The orange and white wire goes up and across the top of the firewall and then down to the top of the fuse endpoint.

I think that is a brake applied off switch for the cruise.

That would seem to make sense. With the manual conversation and the cruise control removed, is there any reason I can’t remove it?

Probably not, but, until you are sure why not leave it.

For some reason I thought 1980 was the 1st year for the lockup converter but I can't say for certain. Good find !

I think I figured out what the orange and white wires were. I didn’t cut them, but my dome light is not working. Guess what Orange and White lol!!
