Heres pic of it needs a lil cleanin. It came off of a Astro van that had a hydroboost brake system Which is what all of the hoses are for off of the P/S pump.

700r4 is trouble

The newer 700r4 i ok like newer than 87 but anything prior may require lock up swtich and tranny shops recomend they tune the tv cable still 700r4 is alot of work just to have od on its own gear i had a th350 with 2200 stall converter b&m shift on my stock 305 and it really moved and shifted great better than stock

You're right on all accounts. It cost a ton just in parts to get the 700r4 to tolerate some abuse, where a Th350 needs very little and be built tough for under $125 in parts including the rebuild kit. You'll spend close to $500 in parts alone for a 700r4 just to have that OD, and it's still not the strength of a Th350. You might suffer some mpg, but the cost difference pays for some of that, and you're trading for dependability for the lost of a couple to a few if you're lucky mpg. I will run a 700r4 in a OEM or a little power adders trucks, but not for my toy that I intend to give pure hell. Also, some will tell you that 700r4 is better because it has a lower first gear. True that it does. But the 700r4 also has a big gear gap in it's ratios, so what you gain in the low end you lose in the mid range anyway. That taller first gear can be gotten around with a little lower rear gear and/or higher stall and a good trans cooler. Pros and Cons to both. Boils down to what your main purpose for the vehicle is, and make your trans choice accordingly.

Did you say a lil cleanin or a lil pic??? I can tell those are auto parts but ..... I still think I'd find a hydro boost off of a 6.2 truck or a 1 ton truck before I'd go with the Astro system. I forget our purpose of this hboost discussion now wo reading the thread again, but only reason to really want a hydroboost is if you're running a biggo cam with a loss of a vacuum.

Has anyone used one of the adapter kits to mount the sbc serpentine setups on. Bbc? I'm considering one but would like some input first.

I have the Kwik Perf kit on my 454 but I have not cranked it yet. Everything about the kit fit nicely and installed very smoothly. I got the bracket casting numbers off of their website and went found them at a u-pull-it real cheap (I got the pass side bracket without an air pump).

Following their website, I got the bottom crank pulley listed by part # from GM and a water pump for a '99 model truck application.

Two things the site doesn't address is the top radiator hose and fan -

Once the kit was installed I noticed my original water neck pointed right at the alternator (top pic). I ended up using an Edelbrock water neck that pointed straight up (from Summit Racing) and a top rad hose (again) from a '99 C3500 truck.

For the fan, I got a 9 blade fan and clutch from a (you guessed it) '99 C3500. these parts fit nicely but I haven't run it yet to know if the fan clutch is a strong as my old standard rotoation HD unit.

Here's a couple of pics -
