Well I pulled the back seat out and pulled the carpet too. I was surprised to see no rust and original color under the carpet. I want to rhino line it but have never done it. Looking for any tips. Also was wondering if putting anything in between the side panels and the truck to help insulate? What have you guys done? Open to anything. Not sure if I want to put carpet back after lining it. But concered if its going to be noisy with just lining. Also if its going to be colder, seeing I'm from Washington and maybe moving into Northern Idaho in the near future. Thanks. Oh picture next week when I'm back home.:help:

Phino lining is sprayed or rolled, a simple DIY, and really doesnt do much for sound proofing.

If your concerned about noise and temprature look into Dynamat: http://www.dynamat.com/

Not at all. Prepping is 80%...then just roll it on (rougher finish) or brush it on (smoother finish).

Cool.. Sounds pretty straight forward. Prepping just consist of roughing up the surface and cleaning it up from what I've read. Thanks 8T6K5.

If you have good original paint don't rhino line it just clean it good and install dynamat.

I'm thinking of just doing that. I was looking at their site yesterday. Hopefully that dynamat helps keeping the cold out. I know they talk about heat. Which will be good if I do move up to Idaho. They have warm summers too. So dynamat and carpet is what you guys are thinking?

That's what I'm planning when I do mine! Seems to be a popular option!

Before tearing out the carpet...

Before taking carpet out. As you can see my driver side back seat belt is broken. Part of the reason for me tearing out the carpet.

I'm a very budget minded person. My floor had the usual surface rust where your feet would go but no holes. I just lightly sanded it and sprayed the rustoleum rust inhibitor paint. Then, instead of the Dynamat, I used Grace Ice and Watershield (that's the contractor in me). Not going to get anything more waterproof than that. Don't believe any of the threads out there about the smell. Those people are full of crap. They're just trying to justify blowing their wallet on the "name brand". The stuff is a fraction of the cost of dynamat and insulates, waterproofs and deadens the sound. Comes in 3' wide x 100' rolls and you can get it at HD or Lowes (roofing materials). Then I put down the custom molded carpeting. Looks like a new truck and it was cheap!
