I have an 83 1500 2wd with 10 bolt differential that just went out. I have the chance to get a complete assembly from an 88 1500. I know the brakes are disk and not drum and the perches may be in a different spot. I'm not sure if this will work for obvious reasons... Can anyone offer up some good advice?

Not sure if I messing with new perches, disk brakes, etc would be worth the hassle.

I am presently in the midst of an upgrade to my '83 K10 4x4. Found some axles on CL from a junk K20 (rear is 14 bolt, semi-floater, 9.5 ring gear). I swapped in a posi to replace the open 14 bolt differential, put in new bearings seals and I am on my way to having a 3/4 ton capacity with not a whole lot of hassle or expense (knocking on wood...).
