In changing the transmission fluid:

a) What solvent should i use to clean the inside of the pan?

b) What's the best type of pan gasket to use? Cork? Rubber? etc?

c) Best brands of filter, fluid, gaskets etc?

A) mineral spirits works well. Or hose it out with brake clean, if that's more convenient.

B) opinions vary, but constants are to make sure the pan flanges aren't bent, and torque the bolts properly. Over torquing leads to bent flanges, which lead to leaks.

C) can't go wrong with oem. AC Delco
