Okay a little info,to do what you want with. The reason there's so many youtube videos on changing steering shafts out on jeeps etc. Is because the joints wear out. I guarantee you I've replaced 20 ujoint steering shafts to every one rag joint. Yep it'll take a few years and maybe that will be all you need, it's not surprising that new ujoint shaft feels better than a 50 year old rag joint but I'd bet just going with a thicker ply rag joint(Corvette or Manual box) would be a big difference and last another 50 years.

I decided to call Borgeson and they assured me the slop was not normal. They were very nice and helpful, so I went with a new Borgeson box. I have to say Summit is awesome, I had my new box the next day at no cost to me! Steering is as it should be.
