Quad shock mounts

Got ‘em on. This really worked out well. I went with 1/2x3” bolts on top though I probably could have gotten away with 2 1/2” and 1/2x4 1/2” bolts on bottom with 3 washers per side as a 1/4 spacer.

The skirts that hang off the front fender wells on my truck were still there but really ragged so I changed them out while I was there. It was either that or just not run them at all since the flap on the right side is different for quad-shock equipped trucks than the one I used to have with a single shock on each side.

What I found interesting is that RockAuto listed 34944 as both “front outer with factory equipped quad shocks” and front w/o quad shocks, and 34910 as front inner with factory equipped quad shocks”. I put new shocks on my truck 10 months ago when I first got it. I replaced what was on it when I got it which was 34910. Since the shocks were only 10 months old I just bought 2 34944 and that’s what I added. I just found it interesting because I saw folks online saying both quad shocks would be valved differently yet at least with Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks the one shock part number works for both dual and single applications and the other is only for dual applications. Interesting.

The factory quad shocks were valved differently. AFAIK the aftermarket shocks all use the same shock as a dual shock truck and just add a second shock for quads.

Your install looks great. When I had bright yellow Monroes I would spray them with WD-40, then wipe them down and respray them every month to keep them looking bright and shiny for as long as possible.

That’s what I do! Make sure to give them a wipe anytime I wash the truck.
