Looks like this has been discussed in pieces in a few different threads, but I couldn't find anything definitive in any thread. So...

I have an 81 k10. The shocks need replacing. My truck came with the quad shock setup up front. I don't have any desire to keep the quad fronts, and I've seen guys talking about just replacing it with a single shock on each side. What mounting location did/do you use? Inners?

Get the standard dual shocks and use the center mount on the axle and the rearward frame mount. You'll need a shorter bolt for the axle mount.

Most aftermarket makers use the dual shock either way and just add another shock for the quad setup.
