My passengers side window motor is in the end stages of a slow death. My replacing all the window rubber has only hastened its demise. I would like to further simplify the wiring in my truck by swapping to roll-up windows. I know that replacing the window motor isn't terribly difficult (just expensive). I would also have to replace my door panels, which are trashed anyway. Can the switch be made, by just changing hardware? Or is there a difference in the door shells? Anything else I'm forgetting? Window cranks, gearboxes, door panels, and that should be it right?

You mean that the actual mechanism is the same, just that the power ones are driven by a motor rather than a crank? If that is the case, I'm going to the junkyard this weekend Fo Sho! LOL That would be awesome!

There was a post about this a while ago on another board recently. I just double checked in my LMC truck catalog and it looks like you just unbolt that motor assembly and bolt in the manual regulator.

I bought both of my window motors for my short bed on ebay, for less than $75.00 shipped. But if you are really wanting to change to manual, all you have to do is take out the power regulator, and motor. Bolt in the manual, there is already holes for the bolts, and get new or new to you door panels for manual windows. By the way a little slicone lube spray works wonders for new rubber.

I would also get a can of spray white lithium grease, that stuff tends to stick around for a while. Spray the rollers, tracks and the gear mechanisms. You'll probably find yourself spraying that **** everywhere, door hinges, hood hinges, tailgate hinges and latches, might even spray your door latch, handle, lock, etc while you got the panel off.

Yep to both, silicone and white lithium. The inside of both doors has gotten "the treatment" LOL The passenger side just keeps getting slower and slower, some days it won't close the window all the way at all! Thanks all for the help.
