I'm teasing Old.

I am sure Derek is looking for somebody who is DD a por15'd truck in the rust belts if the **** holds up to the salt and snow...

I can vouch for that Rustoleum Rust Reformer. That **** is real good so far on mine after a winter of driving in the salt and the wet muddy summer we have been having here, it is holding up really nice.

What type of prep work must you do before using the Rust Reformer? Do have to do more than clean and rough sand the loose rust particles?

tremclad is owned by rustoleum. all i did was hammer and chisel big pieces of rust off, then wire wheel the frame on a grinder. applied paint heavily (frame soaked up alot). looks decent. would do it again.

I just knocked off the loose **** and blasted it, I didn;t sand or wire brush or none of that crap. I ain't too worried about perfection, just wanted to stop the rust bugs.

Mine isn't too rusty, and I have no plans to do a frame-off resto. Thus, I would like to eventually do something alonge those lines of wire wheel & brush-on finish.

89S, I'm assuming you had your frame off at some point, if you were blasting??

No, I didn't have the frame out, just spent half the winter under there knocking the loose **** off and spraying what I could. I got some rust bubbling through on the frame above the driver's side front axle near the shock mount, but I just sprayed it and didn't knock the loose **** off. I will be taking care of that area this winter.

That looks as good as factory to me! Nice work. We on here always get more out of the pic than what was intended, soooooo........

I see you've got a coil over type shock there. That's not stock or OE replacement, is it?

It's been painted about 9 months +/-.

Since you have the frame out you can do a lot better of a job than I can. I can only reach so many places with the spray can under there.
