My truck needs some attention and I'm planning to completely redo it. My underfloor was completely rotten and all in pieces so I decided to get rid of it. I needed a quick temporary fix to replace the underfloor with some insulation material that would not cost a fortune. I did some research and read good feedback on a roofing product called Peal & Seal. I found a roll at Lowes and decided to give it a try. I covered the floor on the driver side using about 65% of one roll:

For $17 it is definitely not bad and I'm very happy with the result, which is good enough for a not temporary solution as well. Strongly recommended.

Yup the sticky part usually gets pretty soft and squishy when it gets warm. The stuff they use on sound deadening is a different material which stinks but only for a short time.

I just put it in... I guess I'll find out if it smells and the fumes are toxic....I can't smell anything yet... If I do, I'll remove it immediately...

I just did a quick search on the topic and it seems to me that people who actually installed it say that they have no smell and that it is the same of materials sold specifically for car interiors and those who say it is toxic cannot actually give you a source to confirm it. I'm curious now...more search/reading to do...

Old-school dynamat was the same. Asphalt base with foil top. The newer stuff made by the big brands is Butyl based with foil. So Peel+Seal should technically be equivilant to older big brand stuff. The only real issues I have heard is some say there is a little smell, some say it can fall from the ceiling in high heat - it depends.

Fatmat is the cheapest and works VERY well. But there is also B-Quiet which is a Canadian product.

Peal Seal

My driver side rubber seal on the rear door where it meets the front door is split. Anyone know where to get one? And it looks like a real PITA to fix

1: That floor pictured up there is extremely solid compared to Ohio trucks.

2: I think I'll try the peel-n-seal stuff, it looks promising.

Got a picture of the seal you are talking about?
