So a buddy of mine wrecked my four wheeler awhile back and i been after my money for awhile but now he says he cant come up with it.. So he said he has an idea that he said his boss is giving him a 77 lwb pickup and that he wanted to take the trans and motor and rear end from it but it would still be a rolling chassis. So the way im looking at it is i would have some body parts for my 76 like the bed and doors but the cab is only a 2wd would it be as simple as cutting out the humps and swapping them over? also would i be able to take the front suspension and swap the whole front end assembly over to my 82? I know id be better off replacing the front end parts but money is tight wokring at a mower shop and being a full time college student. I am also in the process of getting a 72 gmc thats supposed to have a rebuilt motor to throw in my white truck and have decided to get rid of the jeep for the simple fact i dont need 2 4wds plus i counldnt afford to fix the parts that would break and id rather put my money in my 76 4wd as parts are cheaper and a hell alot easier to find.:patriot:

Look at it this way. You will probably never see any money at this point, you might as well take the truck so you at least get something. It might not be a very good deal, but it's better than no deal at all.

Yea thats what i was thinking..
Ill take that truck its supposed to be a big 10
My intentions are to take all body parts and body bushings and put on the 76 since its got alot rust esp the bed
Also gonna pull the front suspension to put o the 82 and what ever i dont use will be scrapped

If it's 2wd, and your 82 is 4wd, NO the front susspension parts are different as night and day. Be like putting Toyota Parts on a Dodge. Not gonna happen. Everything else should be a swap though. 77 was first year for power windows and locks, so if your 82 does have power, you can transfer the 82 door guts to the 77 doors sheetmetal if that's an issue. The 77 rear end will be a 12 bolt, your 82 is a 10 bolt. Might luck out there if the gear ratio matches your front axle.

Oh, and you can put the 77 12 bolt in the 82 then. Hope for a good gear ratio in the 77. They were usually better than the 2.73 and 3.08's that the 80's got.

I was agreeing with bucket till I read this. Tell him he still owes you $250, and make him whip his wallet out for whatever you can get off him right then, and hit him up for the rest everytime you see him. If nothing else it will keep him away. Man I hate people like that. And be sure to remember this bad deal next time he comes around wanting something.

OHhhh. So it's not even a rolling chassis. I'd tell him to go fugg hisself, HE CAN do all the work, taking the truck across the scale and give you the $200 he'd get out of it. That would be a start on what he owes you. All your getting is sheet metal, and to pull those USED front end parts that you might just very well destroy getting them off since alot of it is press fit,..... Not sure you'd get much out of it.

Well hes putting a rear end back in it to make it a rolling chassis i figured id pull the parts i want swap them out and scrap it i figured id come out on top i really need a bed and they usually run bout 200-300 bucks around here there's a bunch of small things i could use and it be easier and cheaper than going to a salvage yard..The way im looking at it is im hoping to have another set of rallies which i could sell for 75-100 bucks take the bed and body bushings the front end stuff like that then round up all the metal and just scrap it im sure ill get close what i want by scraping and plus have all those parts
