Hi,
Need a new transfer case, have on in truck now says np208 on it, what else should i look for for identification?
Believe is a '90, trucks an 83, but has a 90 motor and a 700r4 in it

So what specifics should i look for on a transfer case? How many splines for this uear, what year np208's should i look for, because im going to buy a used one in the next couple of days, how do i know itll fit in my truck without removing the old one? Because thats not an option

All np208 t cases are 32 spline and your tranny output is 32 spline see my problem is I have a 27 spline tranny and a 32 spline on the t case so I have to get a new t case in put any t case will work as long as you redo the input

This is wrong. There were thousands and thousands of np208's with a 27 spline input, they came behind the th350 and the 700r4. They got a 32 spline input if they were behind a th400 or an sm465. Of course, they all had a 32 spline output.
