no tail lites or dash lites

hey guys i need some help here. 78 c10 lost my dash lites an tail lites replace fuse an it blew replace again an lost lites again.checked fuse an its good used a test lite an got no power at fuse prongs top an bottom ran a bypass wire to fuse an got dash lites but no tail lites cant figure it out an i need to get it fixed only car i got

So you are obviously aware that the tail and dash lights are on the same circuit. If by replacing the fuse its blowing, then you have a direct short somewhere. Does this happen immediatly or does it take some time? Usually the most common issue when you have a dash/tail light fuse blowing, is when you have a trailer wire connector hooked into your rear lights. One of your splices may be grounding out, or it has become damaged because they sometimes hang down low. I would start check at a trailer light connector if you have one. Next most likley place is in the bulb sockets themselves at the taillights. 3rd most common thing to check would be, if you have added a guage or some accessory that has a dash light going to it, and its spliced into your dash light circuit. Another thing to check, is your ash tray or glove box light. They can sometimes come out of their respective bracket or holder, and then dangle and swing into something metal under the dash.
