Hello all from here in Central Mississippi.
Recently picked up an 87 Silverado. I am the 4th owner and the previous 3 owners were in the same family. The original sale info, manual, etc all still in the glove box. The truck runs and drives good. Lot of work to be done though as there is a lot of rust. I am hoping to slowly restore or at least get it to a point where i can make it a daily driver. So far I have only done some minor maintenance such as new windshield, belts, a new radiator soon and hoses. Been reading this forum since buying the truck and cant wait to start asking some questions. Here are a few pics......

Looks good. Looks like you went with the bigger mirrors. I think they look better.

Thanks Kyle! The interior is actually in really good shape with exception of a few things like the door pulls and map holders. The dash has the one cracked area where the speaker goes in the center. I am in the process as we speak of repainting all of the trim and parts for the door panels should be at my doorstep when I get home today. Ordered new velour inserts, lower carpet, new door pull straps. I have everything off and painted except the lower trim. Once done I will be posting up some pics.

Nice! I look forward to seeing the pictures. I was debating getting new door panels but I wanted to try to sand and paint mine first (on my suburban) have you seen anyone paint the plastic panels?

I also thought about new panels but you wont be able to use the velour fabric inserts like the originals use. I have read several posts here where people have painted their plastics with some good and some not so good results. I have another thread asking a few questions about it also in the "Interior" thread.

I cleaned and prepped everything and then used Duplicolor adhesion promoter, and then Duplicolor vinyl and trim paint. So far it's turned out great looking. The last day or so I came back and used a clear coat as I'm concerned about it scratching off with daily use. We will see.

I got my door parts in yesterday from LMC and will be putting it all back together soon. My Fatmat should be in today. Once I get the Fatmat on the doors I can get the panels back on and will post a few pics.
