Hey y'all I'm Rickie. A little bit about me I live in Mesa Arizona, I have a 1981 Chevrolet C20 long bed Scottsdale named Waylon. I got the truck in March of 2025, it is a work in progress but its coming along nicely. I am going to paint it Olive Drab green like the old military trucks. The truck is lowered 4 inches in the rear and the front has yet to be lowered but will be soon. The theme of the build is a shop truck/ dirt track inspired build. So it is going to have 16x8 steel black wheels, a race car number on the side 109R. It will have 4 point harnesses mainly for looks but for some added safety, also a roll bar and door bars for the same reason. It has a removable 15 inch dirt track steering wheel. The engine is a Mexico crate 350 with a small .410 lift cam. It has long tube headers and dual 2.25 exhaust back to Flow master 40 series that dump at the axle. Lots of plans and ideas to come with this truck, can't wait to see where it takes us.

Welcome. I think you'll be less safe with four points than 3 points on the street, but If you are going to be running 4 points, make sure that are legitimate 4 points, not a 5 point run without a crotch strap. The crotch strap keeps the lap belt from being pulled upwards and into your organs when the shoulder belts get tugged hard in a crash. Scroth makes legitimate four points, that have give in the shoulder belts to prevent this. The less rigid straps also lessin your risk of a basilar skull fracture, which will kill you. Also before you decide to run harnesses on the street tie your self into your seat, not able to lean forward to see around things, change the heater controls,or work the radio and drive around a bit,you probably won't like it and decide to save your money. I've run harnesses in some of my toys and wouldn’t want them on the street. Good luck with your project.
